Practically perfect in every way with a month to go

Three days ago, we went in for another ultrasound, because Lew's belly is larger than expected. As usual, the Bergperper is practically perfect in every way: proper size baby, proper amount of fluid, head down, hasn't changed genders. Estimated weight at six pounds, five ounces.

Aside from the violent kicking and making Lew feel sick and tired, he seems like the perfect child. By induction, he will be an easy delivery, exude health, sleep through the night immediately, eat well from day one, and change his own diapers.

The immense generosity of friends and family

And this doesn't include the crib, car seat, changing table, other clothing, toys, and on and on.
Thanks, all.

First look

The first picture of the as-yet-unnamed baby (from August, 2007). A very teeny baby. Who knew that something so small could loom so large?

The BergPerPer stares into your soul

Already, we can see clear signs of great intelligence, personal magnetism, and concern for his fellow human. It seems possible that this will be the best child ever, that he will feed well and sleep through the night and potty train quickly and get good grades and find a good job - one that doesn't unduly keep him away from his wonderful partner and children - and support his parents in their old age.

You see all that, too, right?
